Casa Cline
A six-bedroom tropical residence designed to engage with dramatic topography, expansive coastal views, and refined indoor–outdoor living.
Residential • Costa Elena, Costa Rica • Under Construction • 800m2
Located within the exclusive coastal community of Costa Elena in northern Guanacaste, Casa Cline is a premium residential retreat conceived in direct response to its extraordinary setting. The architecture embraces openness, material warmth, and a strong relationship between landscape, climate, and long-range coastal views.
Design Approach
The project is organized around the dramatic hillside conditions of the site, positioning the residence to maximize privacy, passive environmental performance, and expansive views across Jobo Bay, Salinas Bay, Nicaragua, and the protected landscapes of Guanacaste National Park. Deep overhangs, elevated circulation, and generous covered outdoor spaces respond directly to Costa Rica’s tropical climate while framing moments of openness, shade, and retreat throughout the home.
A large double-height central living space forms the heart of the residence, creating a sense of openness and connection between interior and exterior environments. An engineered timber structure establishes warmth, rhythm, and refinement across the home, while carefully considered spatial planning balances private retreat with spaces for gathering and entertaining.
